Director of Development

The Director of Development is responsible for leading all development activities within three colleges or operational units (COU) of the University in an effort to raise funding in support of the mission.
In coordination with the Vice President for Advancement and other members of the Advancement Team, the position develops, implements and monitors a comprehensive fundraising plan to expand philanthropic support of the organization including strengthening relationships with key donors, identifying and cultivating new prospective donors, engaging with leadership of the CAU to build a strong culture of philanthropy, and working with the members of the Advancement Team to deliver programming that increases engagement and philanthropy.
Qualifications:
Seven years of fundraising experience.
Some management/supervisory experience.
Experience securing major gifts by strategically managing a portfolio and fostering meaningful relationships.
Highly developed leadership and organizational skills.
A track record of working closely with senior leaders and providing the support necessary to ensure their success in development activities.
Proven ability to develop guidelines and metrics to track effectiveness of projects and processes.
Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain good working relationships ranging from senior management to technical and administrative staff.
Commitment to ethical practices in fundraising.
Demonstrated ability to manage conflict.
Bachelor's degree required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
